Gent Jazz Festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2011, has rapidly grown to become the leading jazz festival in Belgium.
Every year in the first half of July Gent Jazz Festival brings four days of pure, uncut jazz to the city of Ghent. The second part of this festival presents four days of cross over and related genres. Special Nights can be added to the programme.
Gent Jazz Festival brings leading jazz artists on a high quality stage to its unique venue that’s located in the gardens of the “Bijloke”. This old cloister site confronts historical buildings with modern architecture. It is a cultural heart that is the home for a museum, a music center, the conservatory, a dance studio, an academy...
The festival aims to let visitors enjoy great artists live in the best possible circumstances; making quality, atmosphere and comfort important factors in every aspect of the production.
Gent Jazz Festival is one of the organizations that have contributed to the title “Creative City of Music” awarded to Ghent by UNESCO in 2010.
Prices in 2010: 29 Euro per day, 42 Euro for the Special Night and 73 Euro for a three day ticket. Hotel packages available via website.
